Computer Lab Spotlight October - December


We would like to spotlight the following classes for computer lab indicators (tidiness, behavior, and NETS) and special recognition as listed below for October – December (buses start over in January):

K
Baker – Teacher instructed students to close programs.
Durham- Most of the class went to Harcourt math independently.  The teacher mentioned that they had practiced repeatedly prior to coming to the lab.  The class is always highly engaged in their computer activity (preview before coming).
Mitchell – Students have exemplary behavior every visit (stay on task; quiet or low voices).
Woods – I missed observing indicators for this class.

Thacker – Student helpers assisted classmates in getting to assigned website.
Fleming – Teacher mentioned to students that they were working on mastering how to login, typing in a website, and wrap-up (closing programs, putting up headphones, etc.).
Sutton – I missed observing indicators for this class.
Layton  – I missed observing indicators for this class.

Byrd – Observed Teacher NETS with SMARTboard Troubleshooting: Engaged in Professional Growth and Leadership (Exhibit leadership in their school; Contribute to the effectiveness, vitality, and self renewal of the teaching profession and of their school)
Collins - I missed observing indicators for this class.
McCollough - I missed observing indicators for this class.
Williamson – The teacher talked through the instructions on what to click with students and gave directions about waiting to load.  Most students clicked to the right location. They were instructed to shut down computers (last class for that day).

Cagle - The class kept the EAST schedule 100% of the time this period with regular computer lab activities as needed.
Epperson - The class kept the EAST schedule 100% of the time this period with regular computer lab activities as needed.
Fields - The class kept the EAST schedule 100% of the time this period with regular computer lab activities as needed.
Hurtado – The class kept the EAST schedule 100% of the time this period with regular computer lab activities as needed.

Allen - The class kept the EAST schedule 75% or more of the time this period with regular computer lab activities as needed or the teacher sent an approved group.
Fletcher - The class kept the EAST schedule 75% or more of the time this period with regular computer lab activities as needed or the teacher sent an approved group.
Spradlin - The class kept the EAST schedule 75% or more of the time this period with regular computer lab activities as needed or the teacher sent an approved group.
Vanpatter - The class kept the EAST schedule 100% of the time this period with regular computer lab activities as needed or the teacher sent an approved group.

Harris- The class kept the EAST schedule 100% of the time this period with regular computer lab activities as needed or the teacher sent an approved group. The teacher steered transition to Harcouth Math for 3rd-5th Grade with sumdog.com/ar and other as a wrap-up/reward activity.
Rutherford - - The class kept the EAST schedule 100% of the time this period with regular computer lab activities as needed or sent an approved group.
Thomas- The class kept the EAST schedule 100% of the time this period with regular computer lab activities as needed or sent an approved group.
 

Please Remember To:
(1) Use class/school rules and procedures in that lab as they apply.
(2) Use low and calm voices and only necessary movements.
(3) . . . close all programs, put back headphones, push up chairs, and take all belongings/throw away trash (The last class should shut down all computers).
